  • Dr. Chante Tran, DVM

  • 15 years of experience

  • I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I was always surrounded by pets, and I was usually the one wanting to bring home every stray animal I saw. Looking back, veterinary medicine was always where my heart was headed.

    I worked hard in school, graduated high school early, and went on to complete my pre-med studies before choosing the path that felt right to me veterinary medicine.

    I attended veterinary school at St. George’s University in Grenada, where I cared for domestic animals and was also fortunate to gain experience with tropical species. I then completed my clinical training at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington, surrounded by farm country and a completely different side of animal medicine.

    After more than 10 years of practicing, learning from different mentors, and growing through each experience, I was finally able to open 9Tails Veterinary Clinic something I had dreamed about for years.

    For me, veterinary medicine has always been about putting patients first. Every pet deserves to be treated with the same care, safety, and attention I would want for my own animals. Whether it’s preventive care, close monitoring, or the occasional overnight stay at my house when a patient needs a little extra love, my goal is always to do what is best for each pet.

    9Tails is more than just a clinic to me. It’s a place where I get to practice the kind of medicine I believe in, build real relationships with families, and care for pets with honesty, compassion, and purpose. Once you meet me, I hope you can feel how much I truly love what I do.

    Outside of the clinic, I love R&B music, Disneyland, Mickey Mouse, traveling and collecting memories, spending time with family, anime, star wars, horror movies, my pets, and most importantly, my faith.

  • Welcome to the 9Tails. I'm Karen. I've been working in veterinary medicine since 1997 and obtained my RVT license a few years later. I've worked with Dr Tran for much more than a decade and was excited for the opportunity to continue our journey together here at the 9Tails. I'm your office manager as well so if you need anything, I'm here. Always willing to lend a hand or help out when I can.

  • Younger brother of Dr. Tran and a lifelong animal lover with a soft spot for every furry friend, especially the House of Mouse. Former football and rugby athlete turned full-time pet enthusiast, he brings both energy and compassion to the clinic every day. Outside of work, he’s a big comics and superhero fan (Team Superman all the way) and loves traveling the world in search of new adventures, food, and experiences.

  • Co-Owner & Behind the Scenes at 9Tails

  • 9Tails started as my wife’s dream. Watching her build something she truly believed in, and seeing it slowly come to life, has made it special for me too. I’m proud of her, proud of the team, and proud of what we’re building together.

    I’m usually more behind the scenes. As Co-Owner, I help with operations, clinic flow, IT, organization, maintenance, and the small details that help the day run smoother. A big part of my role is helping support the clinic so Dr. Tran can stay focused on what she does best to care for her patients.

    Current employment as a ER nurse, so I’m used to fast paced medical settings where teamwork, communication, and attention to detail matter. I try to bring some of that experience into the clinic whenever I can, whether it’s improving workflow, solving problems, or just making things easier for the team.

    Even though I’m mostly behind the scenes, I still love being at the clinic and helping wherever I’m needed. Whether the team is short-staffed, something needs fixing, or the day just needs an extra set of hands, I’m happy to jump in. For me, it’s about supporting Dr. Tran, the staff, our clients, and the pets who come through our doors.

    Outside of the clinic, I enjoy traveling, trying food from all over, anime, horror movies, fast cars, DIY projects, and anything that lets me build or create. I’ve always loved cooking and at one point even wanted to be a chef. Most of all, I love my family, my pets, and my faith.

  • I’ve spent the past 20 years working in veterinary medicine, driven by a passion for advocating for animals who can’t advocate for themselves. My experience includes both general practice and emergency settings, where I’ve developed a strong foundation in compassionate and responsive care. When I’m not at work, I’m spending time with my daughter and our two dogs.

  • 20+ years of experience

  • One of my greatest attributes is my love of animals. I bring this and my twenty plus years of experience as a Veterinary Receptionist/Tech Assistant to 9Tails Veterinary Clinic. The care and well being of your pets is my passion. I will handle them with care and treat them as if my own. I love my work and know you will see that when I greet you.
